Full Video of MOU between Yucateco Boxing Promotion and Boxing Federation of Togo

The biggest amateur boxing development organization in Africa, Yucateco Boxing Promotions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Boxing Federation of Benin and Togo.

The aim of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), is to develop the sport across the sub region and beyond.

The MOU was ratified on Tuesday following a meeting with the boxing fraternities of both countries and the management of Yucateco Boxing Promotions, led by Chief Executive Officer Omonlei Yakubu Imadu.

This new partnership is a thing of joy to the Togo Boxing Federation (TBF) an elated President Dr. Jules Mawusse Kpokpo, expressed his delight in the agreement stating that it will expose boxers in the country to greater opportunities, adding that YUCATECO is turning a new chapter in the story of boxing in Africa.

“I am happy this is happening in my time as president of the Togolese’ boxing federation. Collaboration of this nature is what is Africa needs to grow Boxing on the continent and we are happy that an outfit like Yucateco has taken the lead,” he stated.

The President of Benin Boxing Federation, Santos Epse Edith, also had some nice words for the renowned Boxing Promotions outfit, stating that the agreement is sign of good things to come.

Mrs. Edith went further to state that the groundbreaking partnership made them feel honoured, promising to do everything within her power to keep the partnership as the coming months and years are filled with different boxing activities arcoss West Africa.

“We are happy our country has been found worthy of this life changing boxing project, i want to assure you that we would  do all in our powers to sustain this partnership.

“The coming months will be even more interesting by the time plans are set in motion, consistent bouts for these young boxer will  put them in a better place just like their international counterpart in europe and other parts of the world.”

The MOU with Yucateco boxing promotions has brought about a monthly boxing championship tagged ”The Yucateco Pan-African Boxing Championship” which will be staged in Togo, Benin, Ghana and some other West African countries.

The Championship will produce twelve winners across different weight categories. Winners will in return defend their titles in the succeeding months.

The Chief Executive Officer of Yucateco Boxing Promotions, Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, said the new Pan-African Boxing Championship will commence in June 2024 broadening the scope of amateur boxing development on the continent.

”We are focused at raising a new generation of boxers not only in Nigeria but in the entire African Continent hence the need for the Yucateco Pan-African Boxing Championship, we will be collaborating with several african nations in the coming months the  same way we have done with Togo and Benin Republic.”

“Believe me, this project will transform the face of boxing in Africa in a few years, we are passionate and excited about was is unfolding,” Imadu concluded.
