President of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Mauricio Sulaiman has commended Africa’s most consistent boxing promotional outfit Yucateco boxing promotions for its efforts in developing the next generation of boxing superstars.
Mauricio made the remarks when he hosted Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, the CEO Yucateco boxing promotions on the sidelines of the recently concluded WBC Convention in Hamburg Germany. The WBC boss said that he and his team had been keeping tabs on the activities of Yucateco Boxing Promotions in Africa, and the WBC has now decided to open a window of multiple collaborations with the outfit in 2025.
” I am excited to meet Mr. Imadu for the very first time, we at the WBC has been following the Yucateco boxing league he initiated in Nigeria, as well as the Yucateco Pan-African Boxing championship he pioneered, he’s truly a great guy and we have outlined a few collaborative projects for 2025″.
Imadu who also doubles as the president of the Boxing Promoters Association of Nigeria is the only Promoter/administrator from Nigeria present at the 62nd Annual WBC Convention in Hamburg.
