The Yucateco Boxing League is the first Olympic-style amateur boxing league in Africa, founded by Imonlei Yakubu Imadu and launched in August 2024. It aims to provide a sustainable development model for boxing in Nigeria and beyond by creating a professional league system for amateur boxers, with significant prize money and partnerships with organizations like the Nigerian Sports Ministry and the World Boxing Council (WBC).
